Texas City
Dike is the world’s longest manmade fishing pier, extending 5
miles into Galveston Bay. A 600-foot fishing pier beyond the tip
of the dike offers fishermen the deepest water for pier fishing
in the state of Texas. Fisherman, boaters and water aficionados
get pleasure from this aquatic haven. Speckled trout, redfish,
flounder, and tarpon are standards on the anglers’ favorite
catch list.

Gateway Visitor's Center, operated by Galveston County, offers information on area events, dining and other matters of interest in Galveston County. From Bay RV Park, travel west on FM 517 to State Highway 146, go south to TX-197 Loop in Texas City. Turn east on TX-197 Loop and follow 25th Avenue which becomes Bay Street N.
